Alpha Gamma Delta was founded on May 30, 1904 at Syracuse University in New York. Each of the Fraternity's 11 founders were progressive women who contributed to the foundation and growth of Alpha Gamma Delta. Since the founding, collegiate chapters have been installed at 182 colleges and universities across North America and more than 145,000 women have become Alpha Gam sisters. There are also over 250 Alumnae chapters and clubs across North America.

Chapter Facts

Alpha Gamma Delta organizes a biannual Charity Denim Sale to raise money for the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation. Our foundation supports research of juvenile diabetes, SIS grants for sisters in need, and the leadership institute which teaches useful leadership skills. We consistently raise over $1,500 for our foundation every semester by selling designer jeans at a discounted price on campus. Our yearly Alumnae brunch and car wash is also a fun event where we wash cars to raise money and mingle with the Alumnae inside our house. Alpha Gamma Delta also annually participates in Up ‘til Dawn to raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and Scour and Devour to give back to the Chico community.
